What is Good Writing?

Being a good writer mainly consists of using correct grammar. This is important because using correct grammar will usually also mean that you're using correct punctuation. Also when writing you should be able to attract the reader and keep them interested all the way through. To do so, use descriptive words, in particular, one's that appeal to emotions or that convey mental images. Also be sure to stay on topic or the reader will be lost and that means you have lost the reader's interest.

What is Bad Writing?

Some characteristics of bad writing would be overdoing punctuation or using the wrong homophones or making lots of spelling mistakes. Also another thing that would fall into the category is not giving the reader enough information. The topic may have caught their interest but when the information isn't shared, once again, you will lose the reader's interest. Keeping the reader's attention is important, so going off topic and confusing the reader is probably not part of the best writing skills.
